Billie Young was born in lovely Clifton Hill in Melbourne and during her girly years spent most of her growing up experiences living in Glen Huntly. It was her father's passion towards music and the way he sang songs to her that she felt the need and passion for music to fulfil her life. The very first vinyl single she owned was given to her by her gorgeous loving father, a song titled "A Star Fell From Heaven" and another was "Jealousy". In her raging teens, Billie enjoyed singing with the local church dance band and her favourite track to sing was "Blue Moon" and is still today, the track that brings on her most fond memories. Billie has now reached what she calls the "University of Life", experiencing what she can, when she can and, of course, as much as she can.
These days Billie's most precious interests are being part of the team and sharing her program with the valued listeners of 96.5 Inner FM. She presents "Women's World" every Friday afternoon from 1pm to 2.30pm. "Women's World" was her first introduction to broadcasting twelve years ago. This program was originally a half hour program but due to the success of the topics and music on the show, Billie was asked if she could increase it to an hour and a half.
"Women's World" has been Billie's baby over the years. She has enjoyed presenting right from the pilot show and all the interesting people she has interviewed, like her famous chef buddy Russell Morrison, have made this moment very special for her. Russell joined Billie on her very first broadcast and he can still be heard on the second Friday of each month, giving "Women's World" silver service with great mouth watering recipes that Billie says even she can prepare!
One last thing and most importantly, Billie loves her listeners and enjoys their company and support while she is on the airwaves of 96.5 Inner FM.
