Musical Theatre Melodies - 10th Feb - "The Apple Tree" introduced by Sheldon Harnick

Rob Morrison's next "Musical Theatre Melodies" broadcast on Tuesday, 10th February at 9 p.m. will feature Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick's The Apple Tree, (a collection of three one-act musicals based on "The Diary of Adam and Eve" by Mark Twain, "The Lady or the Tiger?" by Frank R. Stockton and "Passionella" by Jules Feiffer), from the original 1966 Broadway cast recording starring Barbara Harris, Alan Alda and Larry Blyden.

This will be preceded by an interview, (via telephone from New York), with the 90 years-young Tony Award winning lyricist and songwriter - Sheldon Harnick.

And will be followed by demo recordings of "cut" songs from the score of The Apple Tree performed by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick, from the CD album "Sheldon Harnick - Hidden Treasures, 1949 - 2013"; plus demos of songs from Bock and Harnick's 1966 T.V. musical The Canterville Ghost, (based on the story by Oscar Wilde.)
