Musical Theatre Melodies - 10th November - "The Zulu and the Zayda"

Rob Morrison's next "Musical Theatre Melodies" broadcast on Tuesday, 10th November at 9 p.m. will feature a 50th Anniversary tribute to Harold Rome's The Zulu and the Zayda, (a "play with music" set in apartheid-era Johannesburg), from the 1965 original Broadway cast recording starring Menasha Skulnik, Ossie Davis, Louis Gossett, Peter DeAnda and Christine Spencer.

This will be preceded by a 'live' telephone introduction to the musical from New York-based theatre critic and Internet columnist - Peter Filichia.

The remainder of the broadcast will feature a selection of songs from Harold Rome's 1937 New York revue Pins and Needles, from the 1962 "25th Anniversary" New York studio cast recording starring Harold Rome, Rose Marie Jun., Jack Carroll, Alan Sokoloff and Barbra Streisand.
