Musical Theatre Melodies - 15th March - "My Fair Lady" - 60th Anniversary

Rob Morrison's next "Musical Theatre Melodies" broadcast on Tuesday, 15th March at 9 p.m. will feature a 60th Anniversary tribute to Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Lowe's My Fair Lady, (adapted from George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion), from the original 1956 Broadway cast recording starring Rex Harrison and Julie Andrews, with Stanley Holloway, Robert Coote, Philippa Bevans, John Michael King, Rod McLennan and Gordon Dilworth.

This will be preceded by an introduction to the musical (via Skype) from New York-based theatre critic and Internet columnist - Peter Filichia.

And will be followed by excerpts from An Evening with Alan Jay Lerner, recorded live at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane on Sunday 7th June, 1987, with an "all-star" cast performing songs from Camelot, Paint Your Wagon, Gigi, Brigadoon, Royal Wedding, Carmelina, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, Dance a Little Closer and 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
