MUSICAL THEATRE MELODIES - 19th July - "The Adventures of Marco Polo"

Rob Morrison's next "Musical Theatre Melodies" broadcast on Tuesday, 19th July at 9 p.m. will feature a 60th Anniversary tribute to Edward Eager, Clay Warnick and Mel Pahl's The Adventures of Marco Polo, (inspired by the adventures of the 13th Century Venetian explorer; based on themes of Rimsky-Korsakov), from the original 1956 U.S.-T.V. cast recording starring Alfred Drake and Doretta Morrow, with Ray Drakely and Paul Ukena.

The remainder of the broadcast will feature highlights from Robert Wright and George Forrest's Kismet, (from the play by  Edward Knoblock; based on the music of Alexander Borodin), from the original 1953 Broadway cast recording starring Alfred Drake and Doretta Morrow, with Richard Kiley, Henry Calvin and Joan Diener.
