Musical Theatre Melodies - 20th October - "On A Clear Day You Can See Forever"

Rob Morrison's next "Musical Theatre Melodies" broadcast on Tuesday, 20th October at 9 p.m. will feature a 50th Anniversary tribute to Burton Lane and Alan Jay Lerner's On A Clear Day You Can See Forever, (a musical comedy about E.S.P. and reincarnation), from the 1965 Grammy-Award winning original Broadway cast recording starring Barbara Harris and John Cullum, with Titos Vandis, William Daniels, Clifford David and Byron Webster; plus additional songs written for the 1970 film version starring Barbra Streisand and Yves Montand, with Jack Nicholson.

This will be preceded by a 'live' telephone introduction to the musical from New York-based theatre critic and Internet columnist - Peter Filichia.

The remainder of the broadcast will feature a selection of songs from the Burton Lane - Alan Jay Lerner scores to the MGM motion picture musicals Royal Wedding (1951) starring Fred Astaire and Jane Powell, and the unproduced Huckleberry Finn (also 1951), with demo recordings of Burton Lane himself on piano and vocals.
