Musical Theatre Melodies - 5th Aug - "Salad Days"

Rob Morrison's next "Musical Theatre Melodies" broadcast on Tuesday, 5th August at 9 p.m. will feature a 60th Anniversary tribute to Julian Slade and Dorothy Reynold's Salad Days, from the 1994 British radio cast recording starring Simon Green, Janie Dee, Josephine Tewson, Timothy West, Prunella Scales, John Warner, Valerie Masterson, Leslie Phillips, Samuel West, Tony Slattery, Roy Hudd, Lynda Baron, Sara Crowe and Willie Rushton with The London Voices and musical direction by John Owen Edwards.

This will be preceded by an introduction to the musical, ('live' via telephone from London), by British Musical Theatre historian, archivist and author - Rex Bunnett.

And will be followed by selections from Julian Slade - Looking For a Piano, with the composer/lyricist performing songs from his musicals and revues, including Bang Goes the Meringue, Lady May, Christmas in King Street, The Merry Gentleman, Free As Air, Follow That Girl, etc. recorded in 1980.
