Rob Morrison’s next Musical Theatre Melodies broadcast on Tuesday, 29th November will feature a 60th anniversary tribute to the Julian Slade and Robin Miller musical Vanity Fair (based on the novel by William Makepeace Thackeray) from the 2001 London revival cast recording with Suzy Bloom, Rosie Jenkins, Josephine Gordon, Nicholas Charters, Andrew Halliday, Tim Freeman, Rex Doyle, Daniel Fine, Jonathan Burn and James Spilling.

This will be preceded by an introduction to the opera (via Skype from London) by British Musical Theatre historian, archivist and author – Rex Bunnett.

The programme will conclude with selections from Julian Slade’s 1980 album Looking For a Piano, featuring the composer-lyricist performing his own songs and reminiscing about his various stage shows.
